Due to both player interest and murdergame newbies who might be curious about how they'd play in the more intense settings, we've decided to open up an official test drive. This is in lieu of a mock trial, as we know a good deal of players are considering testing out multiple muses before the game start. This test drive will remain open until the game itself opens in June.

Foolish Mortals is, of course, open to Disney characters only - and the same rules apply here. Characters who don't fit this criteria may find themselves being removed from the test drive, for consistency purposes. If you have any questions, please feel free to consult our FAQ here. Please list your character's name (canon also recommended) in the header of your top-level prompt.

Here are some examples to get you started:

1 - Waking Up
You find yourself awoken in a dreary little bed that creaks and squeaks far too much for your liking. The room is run-down and decrepit, and cobwebs practically coat the particularly tacky wallpaper. It's...unnerving, to say the least, and you should probably get out of there. Sadly, it doesn't look like the rest of the mansion is any cleaner, but...perhaps you'll find others in similar circumstances?

2 - Killing Time
If we must kill something, it might as well be your boredom. It doesn't seem, however, that the mansion has quite a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. There's an old projector with creepy silent film reels, a ballroom, a portrait gallery, a conservatory (filled with dead plants) and...a seance room. Might be best to stay away from that one, especially since it feels like you're being watched...

3 - Happy Haunts
There's...stillness in the air. Occasionally, you might notice some sort of unexplainable oddity. A piano might begin to play itself in your presence, or dishes and silverware might reaarange themselves when you're not looking. The eyes on portraits might even follow you around, until you notice them. Perhaps it's worth investigation, or perhaps you're better off just screaming and running away. Your call.

4 - Formal Ball
It should be known that your Ghost Host just loves throwing parties. Indeed, it appears that he's called a mandatory one in the ballroom...on Thursday night. You should throw on your best formal attire, and try to have a good time. It should be mentioned, of course, that the motive this week appears to be getting on everyone's nerves. It doesn't really help matters that it'd be so easy to take someone out if you just flipped the lights off...have fun.

5 - Body Discovery

The smell of deer carcass fills the air. Though you didn't know her very well, it appears that Bambi's Mom is dead, and one of you is responsible. Better investigate the mansion for clues, and hope you don't mess this up...

6 - Et Cetera, Et Cetera, Et Cetera
For all the prompts you want to do but we haven't listed.

Keep in mind that posting in the test drive does not represent a commitment to join our game. You're welcome to play here even if you can't app. Playing here does not guarantee a slot in the game, nor does it count as a reserve. However, you're welcome to use up to 20 comments here from your character on the test drive should you app them later, in lieu of a sample.

Remember, reserves for the game will be opening on June 2nd.

waking up.

[From one of the rooms comes a bump, a creak and the sound of feet pounding on the floor. One minute she's running to look for a window and the next she's throwing herself across the room to the door. It's like she's been lit on fire, the way she moves, whipping her head out the door to look down the hall the moment she's got the door open.

Not that it's doing her a lot of good. But at least she might find someone this way. And maybe they might know a thing or two about. Well. She'd take anything right about now.

Oh, uh. [Moana laughs sheepishly, pushing her hair out of her face.] ...hey! What's... what's going on? What is this place?

killing time.

[Admittedly it doesn't take long for Moana to start feeling restless. She can't stand being cooped up, but there's not a thing she can do about it. So instead she spends her time exploring. In the portrait gallery, she studies the images, running her hands over them like she would the images painted or sewn into canvas or on stone walls. They're smooth but dusty.

The conservatory makes her face fall a little, gentle hands reaching out to touch wilted plants with a sad look on her face.

She doesn't know WHAT to do with the projector. Although she has a good time pushing buttons and turning the reels of movies in her hands, trying to figure out how they work.

formal ball.

[Moana has never seen anything like this. It's fascinating-- would be more so if it weren't for the... everything else. Not to mention the timing has everyone a little on edge.]

So uh... interesting party, huh? You'd never see anything like this on Motunui.

[She kind of looks like she wants to learn how you dance at these parties, from the way her eyes gleam in interest around the whole room. It's nothing like the stuff she knows and well-- she's here, right? It would be kind of cool.]

[ Squint. ]

What manner of creature are you? You look like a hoo-man but obviously you are far too large.

[ Yes, he also totally doesn't recognize you. The 50 foot decapod is now actually more like five feet tall, although he's still large enough to fill the hallway lengthwise. ]

[Woah, that's... This is way too weird. Maybe she really is having some weird dream. But if this was her dream, why wouldn't he recognize her? The pause before she answers ends up being much longer than she intended it to be.]

...Tamatoa? [Moana quickly shakes her head.] No way, you can't be. But...

[But who else could it possibly be? Are there more shiny crabs out there she didn't know about?]

Oh, good, people know me here.

Not that that narrows down where I am very much, mind. [ Haha get it, because he's so famous. ]

Oh no, it's definitely me. There's only one being in the cosmos that can shine like this.

[ He gives his shell a nice shake. Some tiny, tiny coins roll off and fall between the floorboards. ]

So, giant not-human tell me of this place. It's rather dank, isn't it? Possibly the largest wooden castle I've ever seen.

[Bianca's just standing on top of the banister, looking around with her.]

Oh, yes, it does look exciting, doesn't it? I always like to try something new!

[Elsa, despite spending most of her life dreading the idea of going outside the walls of the castle, always had a bit of curiosity for the kingdoms and lands outside of Arendelle. And geez, she really needs more to focus on than just the party, with the days slowly ticking towards the weekend, so... why not indulge in a little chat about home?]

What are parties like on Motonui, then? I always thought balls like this were common no matter where you live.

[She has... no idea where this "Motonui" is, but hey. She can still learn, right?]
